Optimization of some environmental and nutritional conditions using microtiter plate for Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm formation

چکیده

One of the most important virulence factors in Pseudomonas aeruginosa is biofilm formation, as it works a barrier for entering antibiotics into bacterial cell. Different environmental and nutritional conditions were used to optimize formation using microtitre plate assay by P. aeruginosa. The low nutrient level medium represented tryptic soy broth (TSB) was better than high with Luria Broth (LB). optimized condition production at room temperature (25 °C) host (37 °C). Moreover, staining 0.1% crystal violet reading wavelength 360 are considered essential increasing productivity Finally, we highly recommended these assays assess

influence of some environmental and nutritional conditions on biofilm formation of probiotic bacillus subtilis strains

biofilm formation in bacteria is an important survival strategy. biofilm of probiotic bacillus subtilis consist of long chains of cells that are covered by a polymeric matrix of exopolysaccharides. this bacterium is known as one of the most effective biocontrol agents against plant pathogens and has a high ability in biofilm formation. this study was aimed to investigate the effect of some envi...

Biofilm Protocol Optimization For Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Multiple biofilm-specific mechanisms, poor antibiotic penetration, nutrient limitation, slow growth, adaptive stress responses, and formation of persister cells contribute to the high levels of antibiotic resistance. Therefore, P. aeruginosa biofilm-associated infections, such as those common in cystic fibrosis and burn patients, present huge clinical challenges which have spurred interest in t...

Iron and Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm formation.

Iron serves as a signal in Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm development. We examined the influence of mutations in known and putative iron acquisition-signaling genes on biofilm morphology. In iron-sufficient medium, mutants that cannot obtain iron through the high-affinity pyoverdine iron acquisition system form thin biofilms similar to those formed by the parent under low iron conditions. If an...

Effects of Extracts and an Essential Oil from Some Medicinal Plants against Biofilm Formation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Biofilm of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an opportunistic pathogen, can cause serious health problems, such as chronic infections, especially in immunocompromised patients. Many studies have suggested administration of new generation of antibiotics, as P. aeruginosa biofilms have developed high resistance to antimicrobial drugs. This study reports the inhibitory effect of three medicinal plant extr...

Spaceflight Promotes Biofilm Formation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Understanding the effects of spaceflight on microbial communities is crucial for the success of long-term, manned space missions. Surface-associated bacterial communities, known as biofilms, were abundant on the Mir space station and continue to be a challenge on the International Space Station. The health and safety hazards linked to the development of biofilms are of particular concern due to...
